HAPPY ANNIVERSARY - 19 YEARS

Happy Anniversary to all the "Oceanos Survivors", can't believe that it is 19 years ago that we were all given a second chance on "Life", I know that my 19 years have been filled over and over again with wonderful adventures. I have to say another BIG THANK YOU to all of those that were involved in the rescue operation that gave us a chance to have a 2nd life, without you we may not be here today!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!!

To all my fellow Oceanos survivors, happy 16th anniversary. Hope you all have a wonderful day and remember how we were all given a second chance.

By the way I received my DVD's from the French interview, one of my collegues are going to show me how to put snippets up on the internet and then everyone can see it.

Hi, My name is Rose, I am one of the Survivors of the Oceanos which sank off Coffee Bay on the Wild Coast of South Africa on August the 4th, 1991. As one of the largest rescues in maritime history I was rescued by helicopter 2 hours before she sank but you can read my story here. I have created this blog in memory of the Oceanos and all who sailed on her.

The boy stood on the burning deck Whence all but he had fled; The flame that lit the battle's wreck Shone round him o'er the dead.

Yet beautiful and bright he stood, As born to rule the storm;A creature of heroic blood, A proud, though child-like form.

The flames rolled on–he would not go Without his Father's word; That father, faint in death below, His voice no longer heard.

He called aloud–'say, Father, say If yet my task is done?'He knew not that the chieftain lay Unconscious of his son.

'Speak, father!' once again he cried, 'If I may yet be gone!'And but the booming shots replied, And fast the flames rolled on.
